PARENT INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Kids and Company of Linn County (Kidco Head Start/Early Head Start) provides structured unpaid In addition to hands on learning, participation in monthly staff trainings is included in the internship opportunities for current Kidco parents. Internships have regular weekly hours and are intended to mirror a work experience. Program interns will gain valuable experience and training to further career goals.
Please note: previous experience is not required to be eligible for the Internship program, training is provided and all tasks and skills will be learned and mastered over time. Internship length depends on the job and the start date.
INTERNSHIP CATEGORIES:
+ Parent Classroom Intern: Work alongside the Teacher and Assistant Teacher, providing support in the following areas: assisting in set up and carry out of educational activities, following lesson plans as directed by the teacher, including classroom and center clean up, and meal service.
+ Parent Office Intern: Perform general office tasks. Clerical tasks and projects are assigned and completed under supervision and include reception, data entry, document creation, email, and project support to all administrative areas. This position is located
either at the administration office in Lebanon or at your local center (if applicable to the center).

+ Parent Center Aide Intern: Work with the staff Center Aide(s) to assist with all duties as prioritized by supervisor for the efficient operation of the center. Duties include but are not limited to daily classroom and center activity set up and cleaning, providing support in classrooms, kitchens, and offices, assisting in the maintenance of a developmentally appropriate and safe environment.
+ Parent Kitchen Intern: Work in a Center kitchen, assisting Food Service Staff to plan menus, prepare and serve nutritious food, and perform daily kitchen duties such as cleaning.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a parent or legal guardian of currently enrolled Head Start or Early Head Start child

Ability to enroll with the Child Care Division Central Background Registry

Reliable transportation to work site, ability to work scheduled hours

Ability to obtain Food Handlers card and First Aid/CPR cards (paid for by Kidco)

Completion of a TB screening prior to placement (paid for by Kidco)
